Salt Flats Racer

Motion Design,
Creative Direction.

I was fortunate enough to go to the Salt Flats at El Mirage in the Mojave Desert, California a few years back, shooting for Mens Journal magazine. Seeing the racers attempt their land speed records was super inspiring and the visual beauty of the vehicles and infinite salt flats was truley beautiful.

For my first attempt at using Unreal Engine 5, i imagined the delicious ID Buzz concept being customised to become a Salt Flats racer. Using the original 3d Model i lowered, added rims, a driver, a wing and covered the paint and windows with salt encrusted dirt.

I am blown away by the quality of Unreal Engine 5, the motion blur and depth of field look incredibly natural.
